This fall, I?ve committed to one of the biggest challenges of my life: walking 60 miles over three days in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. Yes?60 miles! And yes?I?m really doing it.

Those who know me know I wouldn?t take on something like this without a powerful reason. Breast cancer has deeply impacted my family and friends. My brother?s mother-in-law and our beloved aunt both battled the disease and underwent mastectomies. Five years ago, a dear friend and coworker fought breast cancer with incredible strength?only to have it return. And when my best friend in Washington, who lost her cousin to this disease, asked me to join her, I said yes without hesitation.
