I created this fundraising page to support one of my best friends, Hannah, as she runs the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon in support of the Children's Heart Foundation.
Hannah and I met while working together at SJCH in Charleston, SC. Hannah has the biggest heart of anyone I know and it's only fitting she has dedicated her life to caring for patients with congenital heart disease (CHD).
As a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit nurse, Hannah cares for children with CHD, providing compassionate care to her patients and unwavering support to their families during some of life's most difficult moments. I've had the privilege of watching Hannah pour her heart into everything she does, both as a nurse and as a friend. Her kindness, resilience, and compassion make a lasting impact on everyone she meets, and there is no one I can think of who is more deserving of support.
By running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, Hannah is helping raise funds for the Children's Heart Foundation, supporting research that will improve the lives of children born with congenital heart disease. If you're able, please consider making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps create a brighter future for children and families affected by congenital heart disease.
Thank you for supporting Hannah and the little hearts she works so hard to care for every single day <3
From Hannah:
"As a CHD survivor born with undiagnosed TAPVR, the heart community has always been very important to me. I grew up with routine doctors appointments and many questions from my peers about the scar on my chest. I listened to my family?s story of my diagnosis and repair and the impact it had on them as they navigated life with an infant unexpectedly needing open heart surgery. It took me a few years as child to finally understand the significance of that scar and the journey that I overcame as a baby.
My passion for supporting the CHD community continued to grow as I attended nursing school and began my professional career in the pediatric cardiac ICU at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children?s Hospital where I have had the absolute honor of guiding other CHD warriors and their families through the journey of diagnosis, repair and beyond.
Running the NYC Marathon as a member of the Hearts that Race team is just one more way I can give back to the CHD community by raising more awareness. It is an honor to run this marathon as a member of such a great team - showing strength for of all my heart warriors earth side and remembering all my heart angels in heaven."
