Biscuits is only 2.5 years old and has had two major surgeries in the last 11 months. His first surgery was for double elbow dysplasia, where they cut both ulna?s in half and cleared out bone fragments from the elbows. However, his most recent surgery was 2 weeks ago for a completely ruptured ?ACL? and meniscus ligament in his right hind leg. The surgeon performed a TPLO which means they cut the leg bone in half, then resurfaced the bone, cleared out the two broken ligaments, then installed a metal plate and screws to stabilize the knee joint. Now 3 of 4 of B?s legs have been surgically altered. It was determined that B?s joint issues were due to bad genes, he pulled the short stick in that regard, and that the other ACL has a very high chance of rupturing in the next year or two. Poor guy ? All in all, the surgery was successful but it definitely was a hit on my finances? I have not been working for the last 6 months and was not expecting yet another major surgical expense so soon after the first one.
