A family of trumpeter swans never made it across the highway.
A passing vehicle struck the family, killing a father and three of their newborn cygnets instantly. A compassionate stranger named Sarah didn't hesitate ? she pulled over, gently gathered the survivors, and made sure they got the care they needed.
The mother fought hard. She ate, she drank, and for a moment, we believed she would make it. But by morning, she was gone too, leaving two tiny cygnets orphaned and crying for parents who would never come back.
Those cries are something we won't soon forget.
But here's what else we won't forget: Sarah. She chose to stop when so many would have driven past. She chose compassion over convenience, and because of that, two young lives still have a chance.
The babies are eating, they're being cared for, and they're in good hands. Their story isn't over.
Thank you, Sarah ? and thank you to every person who chooses to stop. It matters more than you know.
