Prison Yoga Chicago provides weekly yoga classes in Cook Co Jail, in an effort to facilitate growth & reduce recidivism by sharing the practices with people incarcerated there. 

We know that jail is a harsh, isolating place, and that the experience of incarceration is itself traumatic. While we work within the current systems, in order to serve those who are incarcerated, we envision a brighter, more equitable world, where people?s needs are met and everyone has the opportunity to feel valued, safe, and whole- a world that is aligned with the values that Yoga teaches us.
