Six of the seven sea turtle species are listed as threatened or endangered. Globally, sea turtles face a multitude of threats including ingestion of plastics, climate change, coastal development, trade of their shell for turtleshell products, consumption of their eggs and meat, entanglement in fishing gear and other marine debris, pollution, and more. Sea Turtle Week aims to bring together sea turtle and other conservation organizations from around the globe to raise awareness of the many threats they face as well as highlight their importance in healthy marine ecosystems. Sea Turtle Week is a SEE Turtles initiative. Proceeds from this campaign will help us expand our efforts.
