Children undergoing cancer treatment often face long-term fertility challenges as a result of the life-saving therapies they receive. Our team works closely with children newly diagnosed with cancer and their families to discuss how treatment may impact future fertility and to explore fertility preservation options before treatment begins, when possible.
Unfortunately, most medical insurance plans in Indiana do not cover fertility preservation services and these costs can be staggering. Through this fundraiser, we hope to help offset some of these costs for families while also supporting ongoing oncofertility research at Indiana University aimed at improving future care and opportunities for pediatric and young adult cancer patients.
This year, our team is participating in the Indy Runners Charity Challenge on September 7th (Labor Day) at Brebeuf High School, and we would love for you to join us. This is a family-friendly event with options for all ages and activity levels.
There are several ways to support our mission:
- Join our team for the walk/run (Team: ?Oncofertility at Riley?)
- Participate virtually if you are unable to attend in person
- Purchase a T-shirt
- Make a direct donation to support patients and research
