The Green Lake Area Animal Shelter (GLAAS) is excited to begin developing a program focused on helping the feral and community cat population throughout our area. As a small, nonprofit organization, we see firsthand the growing number of homeless cats and the challenges that come with caring for them. Uncontrolled breeding leads to larger cat colonies, increased shelter intake numbers, and greater financial strain on both rescue organizations and the compassionate individuals who are trying to help these cats.

Our goal is to establish a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program that will allow trained volunteers to safely trap community cats so they can be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their outdoor homes. TNR is a proven, humane method of reducing cat overpopulation, improving the health of community cats, and preventing future litters from being born into difficult circumstances.

Every dollar raised will go toward the costs associated with trapping, transporting, spaying/neutering, and providing basic veterinary care for community cats in our area. These funds will help us expand our ability to assist local cat caretakers, reduce the number of homeless kittens entering shelters each year, and create a healthier future for both cats and our community.
