Casa de Postas (CdP, translated ?house of posts?) is a rural shelter located in Almonte, Spain, on the outskirts of Sevilla. Named after way-stations of the past where sojourners would find respite from their difficult journeys, CdP provides comfort and care to dogs that have been abandoned or surrendered in Sevilla and surrounding areas. Dogs rescued by CdP are in dire need of food, shelter, medical care, and physical and emotional rehabilitation. Many dogs from CdP have found permanent homes in Spain, Europe, and the USA, and Galgo Podenco Support has been supporting the tireless and excellent works of CdP for close to 5 years.
CdP was founded by Javier Jurardo and is directed by Javier and Angelica RC. After finding a perfect ?finca? (small ranch) in Almonte, Spain, CdP relocated to this optimal setting with room for many dogs, and designs for a safe, comfortable, ?open air? shelter for the animals in their care. CdP currently houses approx. 75 dogs, mostly podencos surrendered or abandoned in the notorious hunting area where the shelter is located. Occasional other breeds of dogs, such as galgos and mixed breeds, as well as rescued pigs, sheep, and goats, can be found at the shelter.
